Emirates is set to become the world’s first Autism Certified Airline

Emirates is set to become the world’s first Autism Certified Airline™, aiming to make air travel more accessible for individuals with autism and sensory sensitivities. In collaboration with the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES), Emirates has initiated a comprehensive training program for over 30,000 ground staff and cabin crew to enhance their understanding of autism and sensory needs. The airline plans to implement new standards and services throughout 2025, including sensory guides and neurodiverse sensory products, to create a more inclusive travel experience. This initiative aligns with Dubai’s vision of becoming the most accessible destination globally.
Emirates’ certification builds on its earlier achievements, such as the 2024 Certified Autism Center™ designation for its Dubai check-in facilities and Dubai Airport’s recognition as the first international airport with this certification. By partnering with IBCCES and other Dubai authorities, Emirates is leading the aviation industry in setting benchmarks for accessible travel. These efforts are supported by IBCCES’s expertise in autism and cognitive disorder certifications, which include sensory audits, customer feedback, and dedicated training, ensuring passengers with autism and their families feel welcomed and supported throughout their journey.
