Autism usually comes with special abilities and disabilities. Some people consider words like disability, disorder or impairment something negative and therefore don’t like these words for describing their condition. In fact all these words just describe a difference compared to the typical or the majority…. Which is what autism is. It’s not something wrong, something broken or something needing to be fixed. It’s just the brains being ‘wired’ differently in comparison to most (neurotypical) brains.
